With the marriage of our last child and the coming of grandchildren we decided to finish the basement in our 5-year old home to provide guest suites for our visiting children’s families. After seeing a number of finished basements that consist of little more than a jumble of rooms joined together with little thought to function or aesthetics, we knew that we wanted more. However, it was not completely obvious how to convert the awkward unfinished space of our basement into the functional and comfortable addition to our home that we desired.

We needed help and emy Designs provided the help we needed. Earl visited our home, talked with and listened to us, and provided a series of intermediate designs that helped us crystallize our concepts into a vision and finally into workable plans for construction. After having several experiences with home improvement contractors who would make and then ignore appointments, it was a joy to work with someone who came when they said, listen carefully to what we wanted, and delivered products in a timely fashions.
